As a jewelry artist, Farah Abdelhamid is interested in unraveling popular social theory and cultural norms to define the differences and similarities between hand-held objects and jewelry.
In her collection, “Made to Form”, she investigates lines and forms and their development into a 3D wearable object. These objects become containers that physically and metaphorically hold meaning and purpose to the wearer and receiver. In this exchange, the function of the object changes according to the body, positioning it at the forefront of the conversation.
Each piece is completely unique and hand-fabricated in sterling silver, and some with 18k gold accents.
This collection was exclusively made as part of the "Artistar Jewels" temporary shop in the Lambrate Design District during Milan Design Week, April 2019.
